How do you keep a film festival alive after the lights come up? Most festival sites end where the screenings do, we saw an opportunity to turn the site into a second act.

The Challenge:

The films featured at A Design Film Festival are rich with cultural and geographic context, with stories shaped by specific places, histories, and social dynamics, but a single screening only has time to scratch the surface. Once the festival ended, so did the conversation.

Strategy:

As visual lead, I built the art direction around a single idea: many places, cultures, and stories coming together in one space. That idea needed to define more than how things looked but it needed to shape how the entire brand world would think and move once it lived in the digital space.

Solution:

I developed a visual language of saturated color, collage, and small repeated elements building into larger shapes built for depth and layering, so the brand felt like something to be explored rather than simply viewed. Carried into the digital experience, that same language became the site's actual structure: layered content, interactive clusters, and a motion language that created a sense of coming together.
